Bank of Ireland UK and BDO Northern Ireland launches its 4th Annual Ladies Lunch event aimed at local high profile female business women. With the support of high profile hosts at the Europa Hotel, Belfast on the 26th January the focus this year is on how Fit Leaders Drive Fit Business.

Local business woman and Q Radio Breakfast Show Host, Cate Conway will be joined by an inspiring panel of guests, including TV Presenter and Action Cancer Patron, Gloria Hunniford and local mum of four, yoga teaching and online entrepreneur, Kim Constable.

Gloria Hunniford, will share her personal experiences and insights on how she has overcome challenges and the difference between setting goals and achieving them.

Whilst exploring how having good nutritional, mental and physical health all contribute to a successful business model and positive outcomes, Kim Constable will give the audience an insight to what steps they can take to encourage positivity through a healthy body and mind, when faced with challenges in both personal life and business.

Very importantly the event will also see over 150 business women raise funds and awareness for Action Cancer’s unique breast screening service. Contact Gillian at Action Cancer for tickets at gthomson@actioncaner.org.

Laura Jackson of BDO added,

“We are delighted to support the Action Cancer Ladies lunch for the 4th year alongside Bank of Ireland.  Through this ladies lunch we want to promote the message that when business leaders combine their physical and mental well-being with their authentic leadership, they can then go beyond themselves to influence and encourage a happy, healthy and productive workforce.

We look forward to sharing with the businesswomen attending some insight and expert advice from our guest panel on how we can do this effectively in our daily routines and become fit leaders to drive fit business.”

Maria McAllister Senior Business Manager at Bank of Ireland UK commented

"Increasingly, top performing businesses are looking towards the health and wellbeing of employees, conscious of the role that it plays in strong business leadership and growth. For Bank of Ireland UK we acknowledge the annual Action Cancer Ladies business lunch as an important way for likeminded female business leaders to convene over an afternoon and not only raise valuable funds, but network and gain access to some practical insights, hints and tips for their business and importantly, for themselves."

The total raised to date is over £37,000, enabling an additional 460 breast screenings and 925 counselling sessions for women in Northern Ireland.

Action Cancer is the only charity that provides breast screening in Northern Ireland and it provides the service for women aged 40-49 and 70+; last year a record 10,787 women were screened - most women receive peace of mind and reassurance. However, for every 1,000 women screened, an average of 6 breast cancers are detected which can be life-saving through earlier detection.
